Caring for our Elders: GHAF's Medical Camp at Elders Home in Battaramulla
On September 2, 2023, the Global Humanitarian Aid Foundation (GHAF) organized a compassionate medical camp at an elders home in Battaramulla, located in the Colombo district of Western Province, Sri Lanka. From 9 AM to 12 PM, healthcare professionals and dedicated volunteers came together to provide essential medical services to 25 elderly residents.
The event was designed to address the unique health needs of the elderly, offering a range of services including health screenings, consultations, and basic medical care. With a focus on creating a supportive environment, the camp aimed to ensure that every resident received the attention and care they deserved. This initiative not only provided crucial medical support but also promoted social interaction, helping to combat loneliness and isolation often faced by seniors.
The success of the medical camp highlighted GHAF’s commitment to improving the quality of life for vulnerable populations, demonstrating that compassionate care and community spirit can make a profound difference in the lives of those in need.
